Students Are Earning Hundreds Of College Credits

Our students are getting a jumpstart on college and are taking advantage of the Advanced Opportunities program to earn college credits while they are still in high school. D91’s students this year will earn 1,537 dual enrollment credits. In addition, 616 students took AP tests, which allow students to earn college credits based on their test scores. We are D91Proud of their achievements! Learn More About Advanced Opportunities. Questions? Send them to us.

Keep Reading This Summer

We are making strides in ensuring our students are reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Whether you have a child entering kindergarten this fall or a child starting middle school, please encourage them to keep reading this summer to prevent summer learning loss. The Idaho Falls Public Library has a great summer reading program and it’s free. If you’re not sure about good books to read, check out these summer reading lists from Reading Rockets. Questions? Board To Hold Budget Hearing On June 14

The proposed budget for the 2017-18 school year includes additional moneys for everything from staff to programs. With increased state funding, the district is planning to: provide additional moneys to schools for supplies, printing, etc.; increase custodial help at most schools; increase stipends for some activities and athletics in the secondary schools; add an art paraprofessional at each of the elementary schools; add an additional field trip for each elementary grade; and provide raises for staff and coverage for insurance costs. Raises will vary, but average teacher raises will be about 6 percent, and administrative and classified staff will see increases of about 2.5 percent. The Board of Trustees will review the budget at a public hearing at 6:39 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14. The board is scheduled to adopt the budget later that night. Questions?
